After reading the 3rd installment of the Autumn series, I was very excited for this one to be released. In the context of the series, it is a good continuation of the Autumn world, although I am a little bit disappointed and curious as to why Disintegration branches off from the storyline we've been following (although I did catch a hint of the other group's exodus to the island with the mention of the plane overhead).

As with much of David Moody's work, the focus is a humanistic one, wherein we witness how and why people react in such a world. There are reoccurring themes of survivalist segregation, and "us" versus "them" in the mentalities of both us v.s zombies, and mindset v.s mindset. I hadn't noticed this as much in the other Autumn books until I read the first 2 books in the Hater series.

I'm intrigued by the Autumn world. This is a somewhat different take on the genre which is refreshing, and definitely part of the canon of recent zombie fiction.

Holden Attradies Bleh, can't believe you rated it so high! It was a chore to get through and I finished it feeling like I could have just passed it up and moved on to the last one.
