it was amazing
bookshelves: animal-stories

This is one of the best books I've ever read, and I don't say that lightly. It has everything I could ask in a story; unpredictability, complete originality, that ability to cast a spell that lasts for days after you finish reading it, worthiness of many re-reads, an underlying theme that has something new and important to say, lightness of touch so you never get the feeling the story is taking itself too seriously, animal characters, an ocean setting.
I've read it more than once and hope to read it again often.
