Eerie Gothic thriller, first published in 1974, that still holds up well today: Blackwood School for Girls is an isolated boarding school, in a dark, castle-like mansion with an aura of evil, that admits only four students, all of whom mysteriously and suddenly find themselves with unexpected, extraordinary talents. Suspenseful, engrossing, and atmospheric; recommended for readers who enjoy spooky paranormal mysteries and thrillers.
