Naughty in Nice (Her Royal Spyness Mysteries, #5)

The Honorable and impoverished Lady Georgiana is back and shivering in winter London while all the social world is basking on the French Riveria. Even her pinch penny brother and sister in law are going. Georgie lunches with her cousin, Her Majesty the Queen and sent on a mission to retrieve a stolen snuff box from a parvenue peer, Sir Toby Groper. The Queen pays her ticket and for her maid and Georgie shows up on the doorstep of her brother's rental house. Less than welcome.
A chance meeting with Coco Chanel and a distant cousin brings Georgie a welcome escape. Through a series of event, she arrives at her mother's seaside villa next door to the repugnant Sir Toby Groper.
He, unfortunately, turns up very dead and Georgie is under suspicion. A comedy of manners rich with local and period color keeps this mystery going. Georgie is an engaging and likeable heroine. It's not the best in the series but a welcome diversion and a good read.
