Law Kar (Lau Yiu-Kuen) writes well in English which is his second or third language. He has been part of the HK movie world for years having been with the Hong Kong International Film Festival, which publishes some of the best work on Hong Kong film available, since 1990. His grasp of the history of Hong Kong, Mainland and Taiwan films is both broad and deep.
