I was looking for something I'd love as much as Twilight and this is as close as I'm ever going to get, I think. Or maybe surpassed it, I don't know. I might have held my breath through the entire reading, and I read the trilogy in 2 or 3 days (foregoing sleep, food, and potty breaks)--I suppose I must have gone to work and/or school at some point, I don't really remember now. Hmmm. If you're looking for romance, there's a bit in this--just enough for me, but if you're looking for details I think you're better off with Laurel K. or whoever's the reigning vampire (or v. hunter) queen... Maria V. Snyder and her heroine, Yelena, are all about do-or-die, quite literally. She drinks poison, climbs trees, and kicks butt--I loved every word. (And here I am miserable over it only being a trilogy... No matter, it looks like she's got some more stories cooking up soon...)
