Catch-22 is a term I knew since I was pretty young; in the past, it was a mere term to me, and I have never associated it with a book (Or a movie, for that matter). I learned it from my father and did not know how did it come to be (He did not either; he learned it from someone else). Somehow I felt a special affinity towards this term; it was not a common one around here and nobody else, except my dad, seemed to know it; I explained it sometimes to friends of mine. To me, all it meant was: A situation in which someone is going to lose no matter what they do, and these losses are of similar nature.
A few months ago, I learned – somehow – that Catch-22 is in fact a novel. I decided then that I should read it, and a few weeks ago I got the book and put it in my planned readings list.
