(**Repost ... A new Black Dagger Brotherhood book, Lover Reborn, is being released on March 27th! I will be reposting the reviews and whipping up the others as I reread the series this month**)

This series consists of The Black Dagger Brotherhood which is basically made up of some badass, leather wearing, dagger dangling, stud muffin modderfockers.

Wrath, the leader of the brotherhood (also the king but refuses to take on that role), is thrown into the life of the daughter of his now deceased best friend. He wants nothing to do with the human race and considers them cattle.

Darius, his friend and Beth’s father, dies tragically in a car explosion and now Wrath is forced to endure an intense relationship with Beth as they await her transition from half human existence to full-blooded vampire.

He wants to push her away and only deal with her temporarily. As such, he is crude and brutally honest in hopes of emotional detachment. There are all different types of paranormal relationships. This series falls into the heavily attraction and sexual awareness. Although the sexual content in this book is somewhat limited, what is available is nice

“I can smell the sex coming off you right now. I could take you down on this sidewalk and be up that skirt of yours in a heartbeat. And you wouldn’t fight me, would you?” ….. “Now, we can be civilized and wait until we get home. Or we can get down to it right here. Either way, I’m dying to come inside of you again, and you’re not going to say no.”

The Bad dudes suck in this book. I like the concept. I do. But, the first time I read this book I really dreaded the chapter what had Mr. X in it. The “lessers” are an interesting story and become much more interesting in the next book and those to follow. In this book, I really didn’t care much for them. I skimmed over everything regarding the lessers until the ending I did find one spot that explains them .. a little.

“God and Lucifer.”

“Maybe according to your lexicon. Our legend has it that vampires were created by the Scribe Virgin as her one and only legacy, as her chosen children. The Omega resented her ability to generate life, and he despised the special powers she gave to the species. The Lessening Society was his defensive response. He uses humans because he is incapable of creation and because they are a readily available source of aggression.

So there you have it. Sexy vampires versus baby powder smelling lessers. As lame as it sounds, it actually is quite interesting and becomes even cooler after this book.

I recommend this book to mature adults only. Due to the moderate and descriptive violence (yay!), I strongly suggest this book remain out of the hands of children. Semi moderate (short and sweetness baby!) sexual content that almost leaves you wanting and craving for more.
