** spoiler alert **
I see that many people disparage this series as nothing more than a Twilight wanna be! This could not be further from the truth. Although the characters start out in "Blue Bloods" as vapid fashionistas, they slowly become more intriguing as they come into their memories and realize they are ancient beings. By the time the reader gets to "Lost in Time" the V word is less used than the A word. In fact, this really is more a series about angels, not vampires.
I like in this book how De la Cruz takes the story from Schyler to Mimi to Allegra and then draws it all together. It's about love, but it's also about going against destiny. And for angels, destiny is an absolute. Everything is driving towards the last novel (which we will wait over a year for) when the angels get to do what they do best: cause an apocalypse.
