Lewis does a fantastic job of explaining the CDO's and other financial vehicles that brought Wall Street to its knees. If you weren't furious about TARP, you will be by the time this is over. He doesn't really pay a lot of attention to anything outside of Wall Street, which is a shortcoming. But he makes it clear that the brokers, bankers and ratings agencies made a mess of things only to be rescued by the taxpayer.
