Lips Touch Three Times is one of my favorite books so I may be biased about this author. Expectation can sometimes lead to disappointment and this was not disappointing, even though it seems to be the first of a series. This is an original variation of the current favorite supernatural genre with characters that stay with you and the perfect setting.
Karou, 17, is not your ordinary art student. First she lives in Prague and then the interesting creatures she draws just happen to be real. She was raised by chimaera and has been sent on missions throughout the world for many years. She is rewarded with magic, but only a certain amount of magic. On one of those trips she meets an angel, Akiva, and learns the story of her existence is much more complicated than she ever imagined. Danger. Adventure. Romance. Not disappointing at all.
