As in Firefly Lane, Hannah takes the long view of things and this book covers decades. Not a bad story, and as a past paralegal all the legal procedures rang true. I wish more emphasis had been put on Aurora, the middle child (those poor middle children are always getting overlooked!) I also had a mental block and kept stumbling over Vivi Ann's name, why not just Vivianne? The mother dies (right at the beginning, not a spoiler) but because the reader never really gets to know her, whenever a reference is made to her there's no attachment. I'm not a "horsey" person, so that part didn't really hold my interest.
