This is the second novel in the series. Barely had I put the first one down than I picked this one up. This one picks up where the first book in the series left off. Just as the first book, Shadows Linger hooks you before the first chapter takes off (and the first chapter is only half a page long!) :)

Took a day and a half to ruffle the pages through to the last and I'm going to dig into the third book as soon as I'm done with this little review thingy.

The style this novel is written in is very different from the first. The first was mostly from the perspective of the Physician of the Black Company who also happens to be the Annalist. This book combines the same old familiar style where everything is written as told by him in his annals. However, there are splits in the story where we flash into a third-person perspective when we watch another part of the story unfold simultaneously.

I'm not going to spoil the fun for you, pick this up and read it! :)
