** spoiler alert ** Fairest is a fun fantasy, by Gail Carson Levine, thats great for teens. It shows that inter beauty is really what matters for a girl at a young age. In a small country there lived an Ayorthaian named Aza. Aza figures out that she is a great singer and that she has a great talent. She was abandoned by her parents and now works at her step parent’s inn, Featherbed, where she was raised. She feels that the only reason why she was abandoned was because she thought that her parents hated her ugliness. Aza has skin of a weak blue-white skimmed milk, her lips are as red as a dragon’s tongue and her hair is as black as an old frying pan which makes her the “different” kind of girl. The Ayorthaians are very sensitive to beauty and Aza always feels like she’s getting uglier each day so, she has never looked into a mirror in her life.
