This was one of the saddest books by V.C. Andrews that I can remember of late. At first I thought it was going to be something like the Twilight books and he would be a vampire that would fall in love with a human. Been there, done that, right?!
I thought the main character was well-rounded because there was a lot of time spent on her inner turmoils and thoughts and fears. She was willing to do anything to get answers. Sad conclusion though...
