Definitely some strong points about the construction of Blackness in American literature. I loved the analysis of Hemingway's Garden of Eden and its strong racial undertones regarding black sexuality, etc. I think the book needed more continuity with regard to the ways in which black identity and white identity intersect as a result of the traumatic racial history in this country. But, Toni Morrison can really do no wrong in my world...
