I ordered this book on a whim, in a Kindle Deal of the Day frenzy. I had no previous experience with this author and had no idea what to think.
At first, I found myself not relating to the main character at all. But then I decided to quit over-thinking her character and just go with the story. I was glad that I did.
The book does not take itself too seriously and offers a light hearted approach to some heavy issues with which the main character is dealing. I enjoyed reading about her development throughout the story.
I also enjoyed the author’s food associations throughout the narrative. It really lent itself to the main characters food obsessions, well. However, I did not care about the recipes inserted into the book. They may be awesome, but I am never going to go back looking through this book to prepare one of them.
Overall, I found this book enjoyable. I am glad that I gave in to the Deal of Day madness.
