Urrrggghhh. Parental characters horrible. Obvious plot inconsistencies (dude, note to editors, a character who was at a funeral can't also not be at it). Weird and unnatural dialogue. General over-arching suspicion that the novel's world is peopled with cyborgs.

Kristina--the narrator's cancer victim sister--is the only one who acts at all like a living, breathing human. One star for her.
