it was amazing
bookshelves: historical-romance, historical-fiction
Read from October 11 to 13, 2011 , read count: 1

I really liked it and it certainly brought a smile to my face. Maybe I'm not as obsessed or in love with it as many others, but it was really enjoyable to read! I was also given a nice sense of completion at the end, without the urge to want to know more about the characters.

A few things I thought were amusing, mostly due to the changing of the times... Words often used which have different implied meanings now, "engaged", "intercourse" and "affair". The use of CAPSLOCKED words over italics, especially in speech, and the long long long long sentences with semicolons preferred over periods. It happened a lot where I'd lose my train of thought in a sentence, would look back to read it again and realize that sentence took up the entire page or paragraph. Whew, reminded me of being in high school and failing at interpreting meaning, and feeling a great deal of anxiety because of it. I think that is my one most disliked point of the book!

(view spoiler)

Now I need to go watch Colin Firth play Mr. Darcy and enter in that wet t-shirt contest...

Jennifer I'm loving the annotated version I picked up over the summer. It has all those little things explained very well in the margins. Super fun and informative. *geek*

Mmmm Colin Firth...

Kate I can't get the Firth version anywhere online, except if I want to pay iTunes $19 or pay NetFlix to get the DVD. I think I might just buy the DVD, the library doesn't even have it and I could donate it to them after I'm done. I couldn't even obtain it using shadier means... >_>

Jennifer Oh noes! Well personally I think it's worth having on DVD, but I might be biased. XD I'd be happy to loan you mine.

Kate I'll just buy it, but after my trip! :)
