I love Katy Towell's art, videos, and short stories, and was very excited for this book. I agree with the many reviewers who have mentioned how great the characters and idea behind the story are, but I also find myself somewhat in agreement with the reviewer Mary below, especially her comment "there are too many places where it feels like she's making it up as she goes along for this to be a really effective plotting." I did enjoy the book, and will likely read the next one Towell writes (if she does so). But I think reviewer Mary hits it on the head when she says "maybe Towell should write graphic novels." THAT I think would be awesome.
