** spoiler alert ** QUOTE:

"The first week of August hangs at the very top of summer, the top of the live-long year, like the highest seat of a Ferris wheel when it pauses it turning."
- Natalie Babbitt, Tuck Everlasting, Prologue

Just look at the detail in that one sentence. Babbitt is extremely good at describing the scenery in this book.

I thought this book was terrific. The Tucks treated Winnie so well and they had of way of making themselves likable. And Winnie, well, she was VERY nice to EVERYONE. She was the main character and if I could relate to a character the most it would probably be her. A feeling of sadness kind of came over me at the end though.

(Note: I also enjoyed the bit of humor at the end of the epilogue. About the frog that Winnie grew fond of. But I won't spoil that part for you if you haven't read it yet. Great way to top everything off.)

What I learned: I learned that you should never want to live forever because that wouldn't be a good life. Part of life...more
