really liked it
bookshelves: mystery, adult

I loved getting back in touch with detective Jackson Brodie for this one. The novel, which goes back and forth between Leeds in the 1970s and the present, centers around the murders of prostitutes in this working class British city. My heart felt a sickened sadness at the way in which these women's lives were discarded, while my mind was busy keeping up with the fifteen narrative threads that Atkinson weaves together. I love Atkinson's grim humor and will be back for more should she return with any Jackson Brodie mysteries.
