Perfectly charming - informative and wildly funny.
Mary Roach is a puzzle to me - I liked stiff, hated Spook and loved this. Come to think of it, it probably says more about my affinity to her subject matter. She's chatty and playful - which is comes off as downright flirty when writing about sex.
To her credit, she holds up well with the comparison to Natalie Angiers (who I think is fabulous) and the Beauty of the Beastly - I particularly liked the panda part.
