I am a bit torn in my feelings of this book. I like the themes and Lisbeth Salander's character. But I found the story to be a little dry and predictable. However, it is definitely better than its successors. I suggest that if you read the books you stop with this one; the next two do not really continue the story line, just the characters. I will say this, and it is quite unusual and I will probably never again utter or type these words; I think that the U.S. film version of this book was actually better than the novel. Shh!
