We saw Bob Shea at the National Book Festival on 25 September at the National Mall in Washington DC. He's a very interesting and down-to-earth dad who writes about what he knows and experiences through being a parent. After the event, we decided to borrow more of his books from our local library. He didn't write this book but he illustrated it, so we thought it would be fun to read it, too.

This is a fun book about a goldfish who wants a pet. It takes him awhile to find the perfect one and it's a bit of a surprise at the end what the pet is. The narrative is entertaining and the illustrations are bright and colorful. We enjoyed reading this book together.
