Read from October 07 to 10, 2011 — I own a copy

I like Eisler's writing style and his characters. I really appreciate that he's not afraid to use the English language with care and consideration. This book, however, seemed weaker in terms of overall character development than the first John Rain book I'd read.

It's not that this is a bad book ... it just didn't leave me as hellbent to pick up another Eisler novel like I was after reading Rain Fall. The plot starts fine as did the psychological tension between the two brothers and the female character. But the resolution of the plot seemed abrupt and the resolution of the interplay between the characters seemed too formulaic, too predictable and left too many aspects up in the air.

I'll try the second books in both series and see if Eisler can recapture my enthusiasm. I hope so because he seems to be a good writer with unique perspectives.
