I'm not sure why I keep listening to the series. Perhaps it's the candy corn effect - the candy I don't really like, but still find myself nibbling, particularly after picking up the first.

Apparently men find women who are prickly, secretive, fashionistas, and in debt beyond comprehension to be irresistible. There's Peter, her rich, first love; Jack, the detective who is trying to apprehend her father; and Cooper, the former ME-turned-body-mover who is turning out to be a man of many talents - from playing piano to restoring classic cars. Yes, Carlotta is beautiful and feisty in the face of overwhelming odds, but it is truly hard to understand why one man who be attracted to her, let alone three men who continue to vie for her affection in the face of her poor life choices.

Then there's Westley, her brother. If Carlotta is a train wreck, he's a twenty car pile up. Granted, being all of 9 years old when one's parents run away is reason enough to be a chaotic mess.
