This book made me angry! I felt like the ending was a punch in the gut. This novel is about a servant girl, the heart wrenching poverty of India and the tragic life of Latha and her mother Biso. I had hope for the characters in the story. I thought their circumstances would play out better for them. It didnt end the way I thought it would. I guess that's a good sign that this book was well written to provoke such emotions in me.
