it was amazing
bookshelves: biography, history

I read this book when I learned my daughter would be spending 18 months in Cambodia as a missionary. It is a fascinating, first-hand account of a family suffering under the Pol Pot regime. It is remarkable how quickly and extensively this corrupt regime was able to overpower and wreak havoc on an entire country. A good book to read for a greater understanding of how these people have suffered in recent history and to recognize the capability humans have to perpetrate cruelty upon one another.
