There is a lot to like about this book, and I really enjoyed reading it, but it is marred by a few fatal flaws. Most notably, the characters were flat (something that surprised me as I am usually quite impressed by Reynolds' characters), and I never really believed the way they interacted in the book. There is some great sci-fi here, but I'd suggest reading other Reynolds books before reading this one.
