Simultaneously inspiring and down to earth, this book offers keen insights from artists and musicians who love their art and know how to make it work for them. Slightly dated with recurring comments about then-unresolved file sharing schemes (now successful as the legal Napster, Rhapsody, and Amazon), but that's a tiny blemish on a very handy volume.

The enclosed CD also includes songs, digital samples, and other goodies. Highly recommended, especially if you like to make your own music.
