bookshelves: historical-romance, christian-romance

** spoiler alert ** I would give it 3.5 stars. The story was enjoyable and kept my interest, but the ending really frustrated me. I really think there should have been a romance with Linux the Roman soldier. It could have made a really interesting story. Maybe the authors thought it would be too much like the first book to have another Jewish Christian/Roman couple, but Linux was the most interesting person in the story! Maybe they'll get together in the next book, since Linux promised Stephen to protect her if things went wrong?
I'll have to admit this after reading this book...something that frustrates me about Christian romance novels is that there sometimes isn't enough "romance". I'd like to see an interesting historical romance written by a Christian that's not too tame, but not too racy either. It's been hard trying to find that happy medium.

The Girl With Fairy Blood (Hannah) I have to agree. No passion in Christian novels. Although there is one writer Ted Dekker, who I think paints love really well, he mostly does fantasy though, if you like that kinda thing.
