For something so emotional, the arguments are very convincing. Beginning this book, I didn't have any background for what it was about other than its time period. Turns out it's a rant on the Tories and against anyone's right to govern as king - how just because something has been for quite some time doesn't mean it should be accepted as right. This is how he argues America's break from the tyranny of England (he gives particular rants against the King). For such a short read - and again, for something so emotional - it's a very persuasive argument he pitches.
