Lolita
by Vladimir Nabokov, Craig Raine

Lovely prose--if at times almost insufferably smug, but very nice, regardless.
Best I can say, however? I actually want to read the whole book of Nabokov's attempts at getting this published in the 50s. The afterword where he outlines that sounds fascinating. More so than this novel itself.
It has made me want to re-read Pale Fire, however, as an even more consciously irritating set of characters.
