Books about writers writing seem kind of self-gratifying to me, and this was no exception. It was alright, but not terribly memorable. I also saw the movie first, which was probably a mistake.

Eric I actually thought the movie was better. It streamlined it, cut some of the extraneous bits. But really, if you like Chabon, you must read The AMazing Adventures of Kavalier and Klay. Also, I liked Mysteries of Pittsburgh. It's a smaller, coming of age novel, but still worth your time.
