What I like about Stephanie Rowe's books, is that she injects magic and humor in some of the most serious subjects. Even though it took me a little bit to get into the story at first, the characters gradually grew on me. In this first book in her new Soulfire series, 4 men, who have been trapped and tortured for centuries at the hands of the evil witch Angelica, finally find a way to escape, only to have one of them (Christian) betrayed by the woman he falls in love with.

Blaine, Jarvis and Nigel are finally free, but need to find a way to free their friend without falling back into her clutches, and the only way is to find someone who can find her weakness so they can finally kill her. There are complications, but they'll do whatever it takes!

Trinity has been cursed since her childhood, but it only showed up after puberty. When she falls in love with someone, she is overtaken by the Black Widow's Curse and she finds herself compelled to kill them, and she is shown images on the most efficient way to kill him. HEr best friend Reina is an apprentice for Death, so she's pretty understanding of what Trinity is going through. She's finally found a way to break the curse, but 5 years of abstinance has been pretty tough, and she only has one more week to survivie without falling for anyone, and she'll finally be free! N

Of course, there are multiple things that happen to make it even more difficult for her to accomplish that! Her father's life is threatened, and a bargain is made that threatens her chance of escaping the curse, and then this gorgeous beefy man grabs her and wants her to kill a witch to save his friend! Is there a chance for her to escape the curse with all of this hanging over head??!! You'll have to read it and see!
