WOW it was even better than I thought it would be. I like the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series better than the Heroes of Olympus, but I do love the Heroes of Olympus. The Son of Neptune was even better than The Lost Hero, and seeing Percy in the third person wasn't as awkward as I thought it would be.
One that that was strange was seeing him be more mature. This series as a whole is more serious than the other one, but it's cool too.
The main reason why it's awesome, though, is because of Rick Riordan's writing! I didn't think there were any boring parts, and the action wasn't too frequent to become boring either. There was a lot of character development in just one book and I think the flashbacks were handled more smoothly than in The Last Olympian (5th book in PJO). I also liked the ending, leaving me yearning for the next book--and judging by the new title, I'm going to like it!!
