I really enjoyed reading this book. I was sorry when I finished it yesterday because I wanted it to continue. (That's always a sure sign that it's at least a 4 star book.) I think the title is a little bit of a misnomer though. The author is Jewish and writes about experience as a Peace Corps volunteer in China. It is interesting that he is Jewish and it comes up from time to time but it is not the main subject of the book. I found his stories to be facinating, hilarious and heart breaking. Prior to reading book I really didn't know much about life in the different parts of China and it was also eye opening to learn about the Chinese perceptions of Americans and capitalism and Jews! You don't have to be Jewish to appreciate this book. I would recommend it to anyone.
