This book was long, but well worth the wait for the plot to get started. I can't say I'd use this as a readers advisory recommendation. I wasn't more than mildly interested in the book for the first hundred pages. That's a bit too much to ask a patron to get through. But once I hit page 400 I couldn't stop reading.

The Host is a love story. It's very Stephanie Meyeresque, in that her male characters are mouthwatering and endearing all at the same time. The body snatcher theme is more of a distraction, and eventually becomes the conflict keeping the two main characters from finally getting together. Very creative, very long, and very entertaining.
