I really enjoyed this read. The characters were very likable (good guys) and despicable (bad guys). Plus there were a few that played off the emotions of the others quite well and kept me guessing. That takes some good writing to pull that off. The descriptions were good and I had a really good sense of the environments. However, one problem I did have was figuring out if I was on earth or not. I knew from the names involved that this was no earth I knew. I would tell from the weapons that this could be in the past. What confused me was referring to the characters as human. This left me with more questions than it should have. Full disclosure I am a librarian so I readily identified with Tikaya and loved her growth into heroine. I would definately recommend this to anyone interested in sci fi.
