This book was awesome! I really loved the main character, "Maniac" Jeffery Magee because of his courage, attitude, his outlook on life and the way he impacted the other characters in the story as well. I love that this book teaches a great lesson on acceptance and striving to bring communities together despite differences, but it does it through the charming character Maniac, and he leads by example rather than teaching this lesson in a preach-y manner. I love that he is so wise for his age and seems so much more mature in the way he deals with people than even some of the adults in this book, yet he still has that kid-like appeal as well with his running races, love for krimpets and knot-untying abilities that make it so much more fun to read. Great story with great characters and a wonderful lesson overall.
