This is a book that starts off with a lot of new characters and the familiar Duncan character. There are many people making plots and conducting secretive maneuvers and it makes you want to see what comes next. Who will win out? You get to learn a lot about the Bene Gesserit and the Bene Theilax. The book slowly builds up the suspense and intrigue but then in the last part of the book the author seems tired of writing it and rushes to a hasty and unsatisfying conclusion. Right at a point where the reader would like to linger a little with the details of action unfolding the author slams it in a cursory way. It also makes one wonder why so much attention was put on areas that didn't have much influence in the end yet other players who had little development came to sway the outcome so much. It was a very unmasterful finish to a book that seemed to be weaving such intricate detailed plots. I for one like to come to the end of a book and say 'Wow, what a great story!'
