Read from October 02 to November 25, 2011

As the story progressed, my respect for this author grew. Skopp takes us through the dark days of the Reich's evils and the choices that people must make. The final chapters are particularly masterful as they draw the threads together.
I shall not forget this book.

Further thoughts:
The story (set in the rise and fall of the Third Reich) is soaked in historical atmosphere. I felt as though I inhabited that time and it has left a mood on me that fades only slowly. I've since learned that the author writes from a background of years of research - but I felt that my education was conducted with a light but sure hand. Admirable.
