** spoiler alert ** Bio-terrorist release a virus which kills all pregnant women and their fetuses. Mankind is doomed for extinction. Scientists discover a vaccine to inoculate frozen embryoes which have not been infected, but they cwn only be implanted in very young girls. The girls are put into a coma, so that the baby has a better chance of surving. The young mothers do not. I thought this was an interesting premise for a novel about bio-terrorism. The book begins as Jesse struggles to escape her Dad, who has kidnapped her in order to save her from her decision to bear a child. Ultimately, I failed to be convinced by Jesse's determination to sacrifice herself for the survival of humanity.
