I really enjoyed this book. I'm a sucker for super heroes, having thoroughly enjoyed NBC's Heroes and USA's The 4400 even moreso. Mur Lafferty's Playing for Keeps and the associated Tales of the Third Wave are also high on my list, along with George RR Martin's Wild Cards series. So I was excited about this story. And I wasn't disappointed. I think it's impressive how writers keep finding ways to turn a new twist on the superhero genre.

This story really starts off with a literal bang, and progresses nicely through a tapestry of stories told all over the world by metahumans good and bad. Very enjoyable, and I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.
