really liked it
Read from September 29 to October 23, 2011

I've read a100 pages so far and it is up there with The Duke's Children..four couples made up of rich, poor, sly, and arrogant. Haven't seen cluelessness yet although Ayala is definitely naive. Just 100 pages left and I definitely sympathize with sir Thomas tringle as he bails his crazy daughters and son out of jams. But then, he and his wife did spoil them. Sir Thomas has the best script and dialogue while his wife has the most humorous deadpan lines. How the American ladies toy with young Thomas would make a great sequel. Wish I could have seen more of Lucy and less of Ayala. I think this book should have had another title since Ayala is not on the seen but the main point is how the vision of a perfect mate muddies one's search for happiness. Maybe The Perfect One. Also how interesting that the female characters had such similar last names--Docimer/Dormer.
