I thought this was alright, but I'll go with the usual Crichton criticisms: flat characters, written for hollywood. The way this reads, with the constant context switching, and even visual representations of computer UI, it's like it was a screenplay first, then a book. It seems pretty clear to me that this was written to be an action packed thriller, and in usual hollywood fashion, we learn nothing of the characters or their relationships. Furthermore, the frequent deaths of many characters along side the nearly continuous skin-of-their-teeth escapes for the "core" characters is just too much after a while (100 pages from car/tour back to lodge?).
