really liked it
Read from September 29 to October 12, 2011

My first introduction to Karin Slaughter was her newest book, Fallen. I really like the characters in that book and apparently they each have their own series. Since I liked it so much I decided to find out what her first book was and start at the beginning. From what I have found it should be the first book she wrote, and it is the first of the Grant County Series.

This starts off with one of the most brutal crime scenes I have read and doesn’t really let go through out. It was engaging and very interesting. It does get kind of technical when it comes to the explanation of the autopsy and forensics but I love that stuff. The ending had a bit of a twist, but I guess since I have read so many suspense thrillers, and Sherlock Holmes I suspected this villain from the first time I met the character. I guess the bad guy was just written with a hint of something not being right, but it was still a good ending. It has kept my interest and I will be reading more of Karin Slaughter’s stuff.
