Richard Dawkins has a way of reaching even non-science readers. But his intellectual analyses can tend to run a bit deep and even the most interesting of arguments can become a bit over-the-top and exhausting. There's a lot of knowledge in this book, so I would probably use this as a reference. It's also a good way for the casual public with little scientific background to get a crash-course in evolution. Unfortunately, Dawkins' weighty tome is lengthy and argumentative enough to turn a lot of readers off.
