Candide (Penguin Popular Classics)
by Norman Cameron
by Norman Cameron
To be honest I haven't read this book. But do I need to rate books to read it? Let me tell you what happened today. I went to Shakespeare and Company the English bookstore in Paris. They had a series of water damaged books for sell for only one euro. I bought a copy of Voltaire's Candide beause I felt sorry for its condition. Water damaged and lonely in the outside sun. I couldn't help but buy it - and then i thought "maybe this is the book that will change my life." i mean I am in Paris and I may even die here and that to me is so beautiful. And to have this book by myside will be uber-chic on top of that. Fantastic!

Damn! Tosh has all the good stories! If there were any justice in the world Kimley would drink all of his liquor cabinet while he was in Europe.
Well, two buck chuck is actually three buck chuck here in NYC so it might be worth the bus ride to drink all his liquor.I think the last time I was at Tosh's place, he served some very good homemade absinthe because Tosh is just that kind of host.
Actually I found a source of cheap wine right by the train station - so all is not lost! But the cork screw that comes with the hotel room is not that good - so that's a problem. The big difference between a 3 star hotel and a four star hotel is what kind of wine opener is in the kitchen or room.
I should also add that this book comes in a brown cover with title and author and that's it. The Penguin book is recycled cover and paper. It must be a new design/program for Penguin with respect to dealing with their classic editions. So I typed the ISBN and what came up is the cover above. But alas the actual book is just a brown cover and that's it.

When in Paris make for the green spaces - there to cultivate your own garden.Read the book, Tosh: you got yourself into this one. That is the only way out!
(Besides, it'd only take you an afternoon.)

Normally I wouldn't be so supportive of a review by one who hasn't actually read the book, but...
I adored your review. It made me happy and also a bit jealous. (My thought process went something like this: "Shakespeare and Company! Paris! Voltaire!")
Thanks for the smile! :)
